Overview of the Pre-Check

To be considered for a listing in the Guide, a product must:

The term ‘product’ is used broadly to refer to wellbeing-related programs, initiatives, interventions, frameworks or resources.

  • Have agreement from Provider to be included in the Guide
  • Be implemented in school settings (including alternative education settings) and target children and young people (5 to 18 years) as the intended beneficiary
  • Be available and tailored to the Australian context
  • Be a Tier 1 Universal or Tier 2 Targeted program (Tier 3 individual programs are out of scope)
  • Align with one or more of the wellbeing framework domains of Social Wellbeing, Psychological Wellbeing, or Personal Health & Safety
  • Have clearly identified aims and objectives that support improved student outcomes
  • Offer multiple sessions, be a packaged program of resources, or be an immersive experience (note that a one-off session, a black-line book, or an individual speaker are out of scope)
  • Provide implementation support (this will vary with the product)
  • Be evidence-informed (underpinned by a recognised theoretical framework) or have reported evidence of positive impact on wellbeing outcomes

Completing the Program Provider Form

Once you’ve met the Pre-Check criteria online, you’ll receive the full Program Provider Form (Word document) via the email you provided.

The Form questions are designed to seek greater detail about your program, most of which will be used in the published listing on the public Guide.

Program assessment

Once you’ve submitted your Form with supporting documentation (which will not be made publicly available) to wellbeingguide@acer.org, your application will be assessed by the ACER program review team. We aim to complete the review process within four weeks. You will receive confirmation of the outcome of the review.
