Aims & approach

Bullying - The Power to Cope teaches students to self-manage when faced with different types of bullying and other types of anti-social behaviour.

The program teaches students the attitudes (e.g., self-acceptance), coping skills (e.g., de-catastrophising, coping self-talk) and direct action strategies to self-manage their emotions (anxiety, anger) and behaviours when faced with different types of bullying. A further aim is to teach students what to say and do to encourage the bulling behaviour to stop.

Audience: Teachers and mental health practitioners of middle/upper primary and lower/middle secondary, and their students.

This prevention mental health cognitive-behavioural course consists of 4 x 50 mins lessons that include four animated videos covering four elements

Part 4. Coping in Action.
