Aims & approach

Student workshops are designed to run for 60-90 minutes each for a maximum of 35 students per group. Each workshop is accompanied by pre- and post-lesson plans to prepare and consolidate learning. The sessions can be adapted to suit diverse learning environments.

Evidence

The program is informed by evidence:

  • a Theory of Change;
  • the importance of schools as a key setting for promoting respectful relationships and gender equality;
  • linking gender equitable attitudes to lower violence perpetration; and
  • addressing gender-based violence drivers in school initiatives increases students' ability to identify rigid gender roles and reduces their intention to use violence.

The content of the program has been ensured to be current and in line with best practice by an independent reviewer. The impact of the program is supported by positive outcomes and feedback obtained from student surveys.
