Aims & approach

The classroom workshops are age appropriate and linked with the Tasmanian Department of Education's Health and Physical Education curriculum, aligning with best-practice principles of drug education.

The sessions are interactive and give young people the opportunity to engage, ask questions, and learn in a supportive environment. They explore the effects of drugs and the risks and potential harms caused by alcohol and other substances.

The sessions aim to provide students with a broad understanding of what drugs are and how they can be both helpful and harmful. They also focus on teaching strategies to reduce potential harms related to alcohol and other drugs, especially those linked to age and developmental stages.

The 75-minute in-person sessions, delivered by a expert facilitator, are designed for students in years 5-12 and are free to Tasmanian schools.
