Aims & approach

Through healthy eating and building health promoting behaviours, the Each service supports the development of important wellbeing and life skills in young people.

The Healthy Eating So Kids Thrive program aims to enable health promoting behaviours and create a supportive food culture and environment in schools. The program includes student incursions, an excursion to a community garden, student leadership projects, teachers' capacity building and encouraging schools to achieve whole-school policy, procedure and practice change.

The Growing Together program includes seasonal newsletters, teachers network and small grants to assist teachers to collaborate and build their capacity to establish and/or maintain an edible garden on school grounds.

Each partners with Victorian schools in the City Councils of Knox and Maroondah, at no cost, to create programs that best meet the wellbeing needs of the school community.
