Aims & approach

Empower Education offers evidence-based, curriculum-aligned Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) education for secondary students (Years 7 to 12), tailored to suit their age and stage of development.

Grounded in a harm-minimisation approach, the program encourages students to take care of themselves and their mates while making informed choices. It empowers young people to foster safer, more meaningful celebrations and to prevent or reduce alcohol and other drug-related harm among peers.

The program is available through in-person seminars and online delivery. We also offer dedicated seminars and resources for parents and teachers.

Our team of educators can travel to any community across Australia.

Implementation support

  • Access to professional facilitator, instructor or mentor
  • Implementation training webinars or modules
  • Ongoing helpdesk, email or phone support

Evidence

Our evidence-informed approach is based on the Australian Secondary School Students Alcohol and Drug (ASSAD) survey and our own dynamic reporting, data that we've been collecting weekly since 2019. It is mapped to the Australian Curriculum V 9.0 and Keeping Safe Child Protection Curriculum (2023).
