Aims & approach

The Multicultural Power Cup program celebrates cultural diversity and promotes social cohesion through football. The key features of the program include:

  • Target Audience: Secondary school students from culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Educational Integration: Offered as an Integrated Learning Subject aligned with the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).
  • Annual Carnival: Features a 9-a-side AFL competition where students represent their school and an interactive careers exhibition to promote meaningful pathways.
  • Community Engagement: Students and families are invited to attend a Port Adelaide Football Club game at Adelaide Oval, with opportunities to participate in AFL game day experiences.
  • Goals: Recognises the positive contributions of different cultures within Australia and promotes meaningful pathways for students.
