Aims & approach

The website supports schools to implement effective anti-racism action. It includes information for students, staff, parents and carers on the Anti-Racism Policy and department-wide Anti-Racism Strategy, including the role of school-based Anti-Racism Contact Officers and guidance on reporting racism.

Resources are available on understanding the nature and impact of racism, including how it may present in schools.

Specific guidance is available to NSW public school leaders on implementing the Anti-Racism policy and taking whole school preventative action against racism. The website includes a page for teachers that directs them towards useful support resources available for classroom use, as well as a page that provides details of all professional learning support and resources available for NSW public schools.

  • Regular webinars or access to community of professional practice

Evidence

To ensure the effectiveness of their initiatives, the department is committed to building, monitoring, and acting upon an evidence base that assesses the prevalence and impact of racism.
