Aims & approach

The Resilience Doughnut is a simple, interactive and practical model and tool, which aims to identify the top 3 strengths in a child or adolescent and combine these factors to teach how to cope with confidence during experiences of adversity.

The approach is to focus on 'what works well' already in the lives of individuals and use these strengths, as opposed to trying to 'fix the problem', to be able to deal with the inevitability of adversity in life.

Facilitator training is available online and in-person Australia-wide. Online training spans across 4 weeks, while in-person training is across 2 days.

Evidence

The model of resilience has its foundation in strengths based and solution focused approaches, based on what works well to build resilience and a focus on hope, optimism, strengths and solutions.
