Aims & approach

The The Tell Them From Me (TTFM) measures have been used in thousands of Australian schools for over 10 years and were developed by internationally renowned education researcher Dr. J. Douglas Willms in collaboration with subject-matter experts.

The survey uses leading indicator metrics that help schools take timely action to prevent unwanted outcomes such as drop-out, disengagement or declining wellbeing before they happen.

TTFM reporting is easy to use, distilling results into a handful of critical metrics to focus planning decisions around.

  • A quick glance at each measure makes it easy to spot patterns or anomalies.
  • Dynamic charts enable in-depth exploration of the data. Data can be filtered by year level, sex, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander status, immigrant status, disability or any other demographic added to the survey.
  • Open-ended questions provide a forum for students to express open and honest opinions about their school experience anonymously. A word cloud allows for visualisation of common themes and sentiments.
  • A variety of thematic reports provide a deep dive into critical areas of school climate. Results can be put in context by viewing them against three different types of benchmarks: replica school, trend lines and national norms.
  • Briefing notes for each of the survey measures and success strategies are provided to support schools to strengthen identified areas.
