Aims & approach

The program offers professional learning and coaching for school staff, as well as consultation around trauma-informed whole school systems and practices that reduce discipline issues and improve learning.

Tier 1 (2 hours) online training content relates to whole of school practices is offered to all school staff (including administrative and business support personnel) and key stakeholders. Suggested practices in this tier relate to all the students at the school.

Tier 2 (6.5 hours online training and optional 3.5 hour in-person training) focuses on classroom specific practices and is offered to the teaching staff and teacher aides. With classroom teachers across all the grades at school involved in this training, all students at the school are exposed to practices in this tier.

Tier 3 (3 x 1 hour coaching sessions) relates to the trauma-informed functional behaviour analysis process and is offered to the members of school's leadership team. This higher level of training is aimed at building capacity in the leadership team to provide coaching and support to teachers who have had difficulties in supporting students with complex needs.
